The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is pleased to announce the reopening of Farrington Highway near Kahi Mohala.
The highway has been closed off and on over the past few years for the safety of motorists and workers as HART’s contractor Kiewit worked to construct the elevated rail guideway.
“We want to thank the public for its patience and understanding during our construction,” said HART Executive Director and CEO Dan Grabauskas, “and we are happy to provide a newer and smoother roadway in return.”
Kiewit has repaved, restriped and installed new guardrail on Farrington Highway, and continues to perform road restoration work all along the highway through Waipahu as its work on the elevated guideway there winds down.
