This February 18-23rd, the 3rd Annual Fields Open in Hawaii golf tournament returns to Oahu as the second stop on the 2008 LPGA calendar.
The Fields Open in Hawaii is seeking Oahu residents interested in providing accommodations for LPGA professionals participating in the 2008 Fields Open in Hawaii. Priority consideration will be given to residences in the communities surrounding Ko Olina Resort. Families who are selected to host LPGA players must abide by LPGA policies and player regulations, and be willing to host players during the week of February 17, 2008 (practice and tournament dates are from Sunday, February 17th through Saturday, February 23, 2008). Player hosts are not compensated for their assistance
Volunteering time to assist with any one of several tournament activities, from scoring to gallery control to parking and admissions, contributes to the success of the event and its goal of supporting local community endeavors. No experience is necessary; daily lunch and tournament uniforms, and discounted golf vouchers are provided for volunteers contributing their time.
Proceeds generated by the Fields Open in Hawaii benefit Friends of Hawaii Charities and Ko Olina Charities, organizations dedicated to generating funds for local not-for-profit community groups. Friends of Hawaii Charities is a 501 (c) (3) organization whose primary purpose is to generate funding for programs administered by Hawaii’s not-for-profit organizations that benefit women, children, youth, and community groups with basic life needs. Ko Olina Charities, a 501 (c) (3) organization created by Ko Olina Resort & Marina, assists community development and provides meaningful educational and training opportunities in the visitor industry for the residents of leeward Oahu.
